About David

I spend most of my time helping founders and investors understand how their organisations behave beneath the surface: where instability forms, where pressure accumulates, and why certain problems refuse to go away.

Over time, my work has moved away from tools and methods and toward something simpler and more demanding: helping people see what’s actually happening.

Most issues that show up as “performance problems” are really system problems.

Most pressure is a signal, not a personal failing.

Most progress starts with clarity, not action.

Where that perspective came from

That view didn’t come from theory.

It came from years of working inside and alongside organisations, across operations, improvement work, leadership support, and advisory roles, watching capable people struggle inside systems that made good work unnecessarily hard.

Those experiences shaped how I see problems now: less as things to fix, and more as patterns to understand.

What you’ll find here

On this site you’ll mostly find short essays and observations about work, leadership, stability, pressure, and value, ideas I’m still thinking through.

It’s not a teaching platform or a resource library.

It’s a place to slow things down enough to see clearly.

Where my work lives now

My advisory and equity work with founders and investors happens through Ridley & Company.

If you’re looking for ways to work together, or want to understand that side of my work, you’ll find it there.
